Filter elements

Pleats that perform.

Custom metal filter elements (pleated, cylindrical, conical or basket), built from our own media and made to fit your housing, not the other way around.

drag to rotate

A filter element is where media engineering meets fabrication. Averinox builds elements from its own woven, sintered and knitted media: pleated cartridges for maximum area, candles for high pressure, baskets and cones for catalyst and coarse duty, V-wire elements where slot geometry and strength rule.

Pleated elements use sintered metal-fibre fleece or sintered woven laminate as the working layer: high porosity, large surface, serious dirt-holding capacity. They carry high-molecular polymer melts, hydraulic oil, waste water and hot gases, and unlike disposable cartridges they are cleaned and returned to service.

Elements are made to drawing or as direct interchange for existing installations. Worn or damaged elements can be refurbished; housings can be engineered and supplied with the elements as a complete scope.

Applications

  • Polymer melt and spinneret protection filtration
  • Hydraulic and lube oil systems
  • Hot gas filtration and catalyst recovery
  • Strainers and protective filters in water treatment
  • Catalyst baskets and cone strainers in (petro)chemical plants

Features & benefits

  • All-metal construction: cleanable, weldable, traceable
  • Pleated designs with up to several times the flat-media area
  • Direct interchange for common OEM elements
  • Refurbishment programme for worn elements
  • Complete scope including housings and spare-part packages

Frequently asked questions

Can you replace elements from another manufacturer?

Usually, yes. Send the element (or its drawing and key dimensions) and we produce an interchange, often with an upgraded medium that lasts longer in your specific process.

When is a pleated element worth it over a plain candle?

When flow or dirt load drives the sizing. Pleating multiplies the filtration area in the same envelope, cutting ΔP and stretching cleaning intervals; for low loads a plain candle stays the simpler choice.

What do you need from us to quote an element?

Five things decide the design: the medium and its viscosity, the required rating, flow and allowable ΔP, the connection (end caps, adapters or OEM reference) and temperature/pressure. A drawing or a worn sample replaces most of that list: send whichever you have.

When do I need 0.5 µm instead of the standard 2 µm candle?

Only when the process truly demands sub-micron: polymer filtration ahead of fine spinnerets, high-purity gas or product-protection steps. Below 2 µm the ΔP and price both climb, so we advise it where it earns its keep and talk you out of it where it does not.

Do you refurbish elements from other suppliers?

Usually, yes. Elements are inspected, cleaned, re-welded where the medium allows and pressure-checked before return. When refurbishment stops being economical we say so, with an interchange quote next to the repair price.
